Long ago, there was a great city called Babel. The people of Babel were very clever and worked together to accomplish amazing things. One day, they had a brilliant idea: they wanted to build a tower that would reach all the way to the sky! They thought that if they built such a tall tower, they could make a name for themselves and show how powerful they were.

So, the people gathered together and began their work. As they built, they dreamed of the greatness that awaited them at the top of the tower. People were excited and worked hard.

But there was one problem. They became so focused on their project that they started to think they could do anything without any help from anyone else or God. They wanted to be as powerful as the heavens. Their ambition grew, and they forgot to be kind and respectful to each other. Now, in that vast sky above, there was God, who noticed what the people were doing. Although it was great to see them working hard, He saw that their intentions were not good. They wanted to reach the heavens to show their power, not to talk to Him. So, God decided to mix things up a bit!

One day, as the workers were busy on the tower, God made it so that everyone could suddenly speak different languages! Imagine the confusion! One person would say, “Pass me the brick!” but another person would hear, “Throw me the stick!” No one could understand each other anymore. The workers found it hard to cooperate and work together.

Soon, the tower was left unfinished, and the people began to scatter across the land, each speaking their own language. People spoke many different tongues in the city of Babel, which is believed to be the origin of many languages. From that day on, the Tower of Babel stood as a reminder that while it’s great to dream big and work together, it’s also important to remember to be humble and kind.
