Long ago, in a small village, there lived a kind father and his two sons. The younger son was curious and adventurous. One day, he decided to leave home to explore the world, so he asked his father for his share of the family’s money. Although the father was sad to see his son go, he loved him very much and gave him what he asked for. So, the younger son packed his bags and set off on his journey, excited to experience new things.

At first, everything was fun! He spent money on wonderful parties, delicious food, and fun activities. He made many friends and felt very happy. But soon, he found out that money doesn’t last forever. One day, he realised he had spent all his money and was alone. With no money left and nowhere to stay, the younger son had to find a job.

He found work feeding pigs, and it was a tough job. He felt very sad and lonely, wishing he could go back home. The younger son decided to return home and tell his father he was sorry. He thought that maybe his father would let him be a servant on the farm since he felt he didn’t deserve to be a son anymore. As the younger son returned home, his heart was heavy with regret.

However, his father noticed him from afar. The father ran to him, hugged him tightly, and welcomed him back with open arms. He felt a rush of joy! The father threw a big party to celebrate his son’s return. He was so happy to have his son back home safe and sound! The younger son realised that no matter what mistakes he had made, his father loved him unconditionally. And so, they all lived happily together again, with Jack feeling much wiser and grateful for the love of his family.

The story of the Prodigal Son teaches us about forgiveness, love, admitting mistakes we’ve made, saying sorry, and the importance of family. It is a story of God’s love, like the father who loved his son. No matter how far we stray or what mistakes we make, there’s always a way back home.
