A kind shepherd had 100 fluffy sheep. Every day, he took care of them, making sure they had plenty of food and stayed safe. They would wander together in beautiful green fields and bright, sunny hills.
One day, as he was counting his sheep at sunset, he noticed something surprising. “Oh no!” he exclaimed. “I only have 99 sheep! Where is the one that is lost?” The shepherd loved each of his sheep very much. Even though he had 99 still safe with him, he couldn’t ignore the missing one. So, he decided to go out and look for it. He bravely walked over hills, crossed rivers, and searched the nooks and crannies where he thought the little sheep might be hiding.
Finally, after a long search, he heard a soft baa coming from behind a bush. When he found the lost sheep, it was stuck and scared! The shepherd gently lifted the little sheep and hugged it close. He was so happy to have found it!
To celebrate, the shepherd went home and called all his friends and neighbours. “Come and rejoice with me!” he said. “I found my lost sheep!” They all celebrated together because finding something valuable is always worth celebrating! And that’s the story of the lost sheep, which shows us how much love and care we should have for others, just like the shepherd had for his sheep.
