Once there was a man who was travelling from one city to another. While he was walking along the road, he was attacked by some robbers who took all his money and hurt him badly. After they left, he lay by the side of the road, feeling very sad and alone.

As he was there, a priest came walking by. The man thought that maybe the priest would help him. But when the priest saw the injured man, he crossed to the other side of the road and walked past, without stopping to help. Next, another man from the Levite tribe came along. The injured man hoped he would receive help from him, too. But just like the priest, the Levite saw the hurt man and decided to avoid him, passing by on the other side.

Finally, a Samaritan came down the road. Now, Samaritans and the other people in that area often didn’t get along. But when the Samaritan saw the hurt man, he didn’t turn away. Instead, he felt deep compassion in his heart. The kind Samaritan rushed over to the injured man and gently bandaged his wounds. He even lifted him onto his donkey and took him to an inn where he could rest and heal. The Samaritan paid for the man’s stay and promised to come back to check on him.

This story teaches us how important it is to be kind and help others, no matter who they are or where they come from. Just like the Good Samaritan, we should always lend a hand to those in need.
