Mary and Joseph are very special because they are the parents of Jesus, who is the Son of God.
We honour Mary and Joseph because they were obedient to God and took care of Jesus in a very special way. They teach us how to love and trust God with all our hearts, just like they did. In our prayers, we often ask Mary to pray for us and help us be good, just like she was. And we remember Joseph as a model of kindness, humility, and love for his family.

Mary
Mary is Jesus’ mother, is often called the Blessed Mother. She is so important because God chose her to be the mother of Jesus.
Mary was a very good and loving woman who always said “Yes” to God. When the angel Gabriel told her that she was going to have a baby who would be the Son of God, she trusted God completely and said, “Let it be done to me according to your word.” This is a big example for us to always trust God and follow His plan.
Mary is known as our mother because, as Catholics, we believe that she cares for all of us just like a loving mother. That’s why we pray to her and ask her to pray for us.

Joseph
Jospeh is Jesus’ earthly adoptive father was a very good and kind man. Even though he wasn’t the real father of Jesus, he took care of Mary and Jesus with all his heart.
Joseph was a carpenter, and he worked hard to provide for his family. He loved Mary very much and was always ready to listen to God. When an angel appeared to Joseph in a dream and told him to take Mary as his wife and to name the baby Jesus, Joseph obeyed right away. He loved Jesus as his own son and protected him, taking care of him and guiding him as he grew up.
